Module One explores the complex intersection between domestic abuse and professional life, challenging the assumption that professional success, financial security or competence provide immunity from abuse. Across three sessions, you will explore the stereotypes that can make the Professional Survivor difficult to recognise, examine the Economic Mirage and the distinction between financial appearance and genuine financial autonomy. You will also consider how domestic abuse may intersect with professional identity, working life and career experiences. Throughout the module, one principle remains central: Your professional competence does not invalidate your experience of domestic abuse, and experiencing domestic abuse does not diminish your professional identity; both realities can coexist.
